Bought into the French National collection in 2024
2023 - Irregular shape. Approx. 145cm long x 60cm wide - Wall installation. Styrofoam structure sculptured out of recycled fishermen boxes. Origami folded, rust stained material: Linen, cotton and denim. Pinned onto Styrofoam structure.
Waves of grief crashing in. Emotions pulling and dragging like strong undertows.
The rock stands calmly in the storm.
Strong and quiet.
Focus on it. Feeling it with my hands, feeling its tangible strength beneath myself.
My creativity, my art has been my rock in this crushing sea…and then..I understood that my art is me.
I am my own rock in this sea of life.
